T came round for NYE last night. We stuck to the cunning plan of curry, beer and talking crap. Everything went rather well, Horwich pubs were a bit busy. It wasn't really terribly exciting, but then again, neither was it a damp squib. Seeing the fireworks over London on the TV was pretty stunning though - *that* would have been a good place to see the new year in!

The new inflatable mattress I got a while back works wonderfully when used in conjunction with a cheapo foot pump that I picked up on a whim from Tesco, and it fits well in the study. Crash space is therefore easily available now, although I hope to get something better - probably a non crappy futon sofabed sometime.

Bastard 14:00 train went straight through Blackrod station without stopping, so I dropped T off home - an advantage of not going too wild with beer the previous night is that I could do this! :).

So, reasonably low key but still enjoyable new years. Thanks for all the messages I got :).
