First, shameless attention whoring

(I suppose that would help to point people direct to my entry, I was just pointing people in the general direction rather than needing attention, although it would be nice)
I may have commented on a couple of entries. Although the previous darkroom orgy and other events have revealed to me that a) I prefer to know who the person trying to snog me is and b) I'm really not keen on someone unknown flirting with both myself and a third party I know of (although it should be said, that I still found the attention flattering).
Second, in addition to some much needed tidying up I managed to explore my new Amazon purchases. Babylon 5 is rather good, and I fitted in a couple of episodes (now up to episode 5).
Whilst tidying I managed to listen to :
Annie Lennox : Songs of Mass Destruction : it's not bad, but still doesn't meet the heights of
Medusa or
Diva. I remain a bit unimpressed by
Bare, although perhaps if it will improve on subsequent listening. However, Annie in her Eurythmics guise in
Peace is stand out brilliant!
Beethoven Piano Sonatas 8, 14, 23 and 26 is competent enough but possibly lacking sparkle in certain areas. I am also enough of a sad git that the moonlight sonata (14) reminds me of
Jet Set Willy. On the bright side I can *almost* listen to An der schönen blauen Donau/The Blue Danube without thinking of
Elite (or 2001).
Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade and Stravinsky: Song of the Nightingale taken from the 1960 Reiner three channel performance, on the other hand, is stand out brilliant from the moment it comes on. I now so need a surround sound amp (preferably HDMI - my SACD player can do DSD over HDMI) and a centre channel, as currently I only have stereo speakers.
